World War II pilot shares stories

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - United States Air Force Lt. Col. Wendell Hanson (Ret.) tells the story of a piece of shrapnel retrieved from his seat of a B-25 aircraft during World War II to his family while waiting to board a bomber similar to the one that he flew. John Person, 114th Maintenance Group Munition Storage, the Outstanding Reservist of the Year for the South Dakota Air National Guard award at the Armed Forces Day program held at the Sioux Falls Veterans Administration Health Care Center here May 19, 2012.
