Chief Master Sergeant Troy E. Erlandson

Chief Master Sergeant Troy E. Erlandson is the Occupational Safety Manager of the 114th Fighter Wing, Joe Foss Field, Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Chief Master Sergeant Erlandson graduated from Custer High School, Custer, SD in 1988. He enlisted in the Air Force, serving on Modified C-135's assigned to the 4950th Test Wing, WPAFB, OH. 1992, he was one of six A & P mechanics hand-picked to serve at the Phillips Weapons Laboratory, KAFB, NM. He joined the South Dakota Air National Guard as an F-16 Crew Chief in 1997 and was hired as a full-time federal technician in 1999, working as an Avionics Technician. He was assigned as an Avionics Supervisor in 2003 until 2012 when he took over as the Occupational Safety Manager for the Wing.

Chief Master Sergeant Erlandson has participated in Test Missions worldwide, working with the SDI, and agencies like NASA, DOE, and many more. He has deployed to Northern and Southern Watch, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Deep Freeze, Coronet Night Hawk as well as many other exercises. He has served the State during the 2011 Missouri River Flood and has worked with the South Dakota Army National Guard during Joint Operations. He currently serves as the Headquarters A1 Superintendent.
