Chief Master Sergeant DEAN L. HILLBERG

Chief Master Sergeant Dean L. Hillberg is the 114th Fighter Wing Command Chief Master Sergeant, where he is responsible for the interests regarding welfare, readiness, morale, proper utilization and progress concerning the enlisted personnel of the South Dakota Air National Guard.

Chief Hillberg enlisted in the United States Air Force on March 23, 1981 as an Avionic Inertial and Radar Navigation Systems Repairman working on F-4E and C-141E aircraft. On July 9, 1985, he joined the South Dakota Air National Guard as an Inertial Measurement Systems Repairman performing maintenance on A-7 D/K aircraft. As the unit phased in F-16 C/D aircraft in 1991, Chief Hillberg was assigned to the Avionics Intermediate Shop. He also has been assigned in Electronic Counter Measures, Weapons Control Radar, Production Recruiting, Recruiting Office Supervisor, Human Resources Officer-Remote, and most recently as the Classification and Labor Relations Specialist for the South Dakota National Guard.

Chief Hillberg was selected as the Wing Command Chief on November 3, 2013.
