There is an organization that is America's hometown Air Force. It's designed for the Health Professional. It's interesting, it's challenging, and it's exciting. It's an activity that offers more opportunity than you can imagine. It's friendly, it's secure, it's financially rewarding, it engenders pride, and above all it's fun! It's the Air National Guard!
As a Health Professional in the South Dakota Air National Guard:
- You may be eligible to receive up to $50,000 for school loans or $30,000 incentive bonus.
- You will be a commissioned officer.
- You will participate in a non-contributory retirement program.
- You will receive free continuing professional education and training.
The Air National Guard has a long and proud history of service to the United States and has consistently participated in both humanitarian efforts and wartime missions within the spectrum of operations other than war. The medical arm of the Air National Guard, both alone and in concert with active duty Air Force and Air Force Reserve personnel, has played a key role in the success of many such missions.
Health professional positions include: Health Services Administrator, Optometrist, Physician Assistant, Bioenvironmental Engineer, Public Health, General Practice and Family Practice Physician, Clinical Nurse, Dentist, and Flight Surgeon.
