BASIC MILITARY TRAINING
Once accepted, you will go to Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas for six (6) and 1/2 weeks of basic military training. You will become oriented to military procedures and be challenged both mentally and physically. Your training instructor (TI) will teach you how teamwork can help accomplish any job easily and more efficiently. Basic military training is a time of challenge, discipline, camaraderie, and most importantly, personal development - your mind, your body, and your confidence. You will carry these attributes with you throughout your entire life.
You will continue your training at an Air Force technical school located at various locations throughout the United States. Depending on the career field, your training could last anywhere from six (6) weeks to 30 weeks. The in-depth, comprehensive instruction and hands-on experience will allow you to become a valuable member of the 114th Fighter Wing. Career oriented technical training, both military and civilian, as well as experience on the job is an unbeatable combination.
After basic military training and technical training you will return home to fulfill your mission as a citizen airman - because the Air National Guard is part time. You serve as little as one (1) weekend per month and two (2) weeks of annual training each year.
EARN WHILE YOU LEARN
While at basic military training and technical training you will "Earn While You Learn", earning up to $1,500.00 per month, with little expenses. Your room, board, food and uniforms are all provided at no cost to you.
