SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- Inviting nearly 200 thousand of your closest friends, family and community members to an Airshow can certainly be exciting. We had outstanding weather and an amazing show, featuring the very latest in civilian aerobatics and military demonstrations. We also seized the opportunity to dedicate the Operations Building to a previous commander, adjutant general, and director of the National Guard, Maj. Gen. Philip G. Killey.
The weekend was full of activities and entertainment. Not only did we see generations of aircraft on display and in flight, we also had generations of family and friends of the Air National Guard to enjoy it. The unit has a proud heritage and it was great to see everyone.
I'm definitely aware that hosting such a massive event requires an unbelievable effort from all of you. The countless hours of planning, the set up, security, execution of the show and teardown is what produced a nearly flawless Airshow. It was your hard work, working with the Airshow committee, and hundreds of volunteers that made this Airshow the best that I and many others have ever seen.
We are extremely fortunate to have the support of such a great community. This was our opportunity to say thank you to them. It couldn't have been done without you. Thanks so much!
