114th Fighter Wing to host Air National Guard Softball Tournament Published March 29, 2009 By Senior Master Sgt. Donald Pottebaum 114th Fighter Wing SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- After 20 years, the 114th Fighter Wing will once again host this year's national Air National Guard softball tournament Aug. 12-16. With up to one thousand Air National Guard members from all over the U.S. attending, we will need a lot of volunteers. If you are interested in helping out before or during the tournament we have multiple opportunities. Some of the things you may be involved in include welcome event volunteers, scorekeepers, water runners, ball field assistants, and tournament planning committees. Please submit your name and area of interest to tournament co-chair Senior Master Sgt. Donald Pottebaum via e-mail at donald.pottebaum@sdsiou.ang.af.mil now. If you, your spouse, or eligible dependent are interested in playing on a team for the tournament, please e-mail your name, division, experience/league level, and position to Senior Master Sgt. Pottebaum. Divisions for the tournament are co-ed, men's, women's, 35 and over, and 45 and over. E-mail must be received by April 30th. The tournament website is located at www.freewebs.com/angsoftball. This website contains all the information on the tournament as well as e-mail addresses for various points of contact. Senior Master Sgt. Pottebaum and Master Sgt. Chris Langloss are tournament co-chairs. Also on the committee and representing the city of Sioux Falls is Captain Cathy Clayton. Feel free to contact any of these members with your questions. We've begun the work to make this a successful event and now all we need is your help. Step up and volunteer or come on out and play.
