The Base Exchange on Joe Foss Field is celebrating it's twentieth year at the South Dakota Air National Guard in 2011.

A twenty year celebration was held on August 6th with a customer appreciation event attended by senior leaders of the unit as well as Anna Stanton, the general manager from the Base Exchange at Offutt Air Force Base.

The BX has had three different locations over the past twenty years at Joe Foss Field. The first BX was located in building 47 which has just recently been demolished. In 1995 the BX was moved to building 61 and shared this space with the Club. The final move, in 1999, set the BX up with it's largest and current location in building 63.

Future plans for the BX include the addition of an outdoor patio area in front of the building for members to use to gather and enjoy refreshments purchased at the BX.
"We don't just say we have the best customers in the world, we really believe it," said Sherri Oster. "It is the members of this unit that visit the BX that keeps us vital and we hope to be able to stay here another 20 years."
