National Guard continues levee construction, working with community in Dakota Dunes
DAKOTA DUNES, S.D. - South Dakota Army National Guard Soldiers from the 153rd Forward Support Company of Parkston work with a conveyor belt filling 2,500 pound sandbags. The sandbags will be air lifted into difficult-to-reach areas of the levee being constructed along the Missouri River in the Dakota Dunes area, Thursday, June 2, 2011. Soldiers and Airmen are working around the clock in this historic flooding event and continue to work side by side with local, state and federal agencies to provide flooding assistance to the citizens of South Dakota.
